Christmas!!

We had a fantastic Christmas! It was so great to see family and friends! It was such a joy to see Abigayle enjoy spending time with the family and playing with her new toys! She got a kitchen and a horse from the grandparents. We got her a stroller for her babies. And, Aunt Delicia got her a snow white doll and Disney princess dress up outfits, which she absolutely loves to play with! I didn't get any pics at the Grunewald Christmas (bad momma!!) but she got some great toys there too! Including lots of play food for her new kitchen! Thank you to all of our family and friends for such a great Christmas! We love you all!

Haircuts, snow, and painting, oh my!

Abigayle got her haircut for the first time yesterday! We went to a kids salon called Snip-its. She was SO good! I was very surprised how well she sat still! The pictures below are in reverse order but after she got her hair cut the lady fixed it with a bow. She looked so cute! And you can't really tell from the picture but she got sparkles in her hair too! They didn't cut much so it doesn't look much different but it is a step in the right direction!

We were not here during the Blizzard of '09 but came back home to see this!! Couldn't believe the drifts! In the last picture it doesn't look too bad but there is a drainage ditch behind the mailbox and you can't even tell that it is there!

So, we finally got our house repainted, I am so glad we had it done by professionals, they did a great job and, as you can see, they were very thorough in covering all of our things! I definitely would not have gone to this much trouble if I was doing it myself, and therefore I am sure I would have spilled paint on something! I did not expect the house to be so unusable but it was only for one night! And I think it looks much better now!

Good times!

I was getting for bed recently and I was thinking about how good it makes me feel when I know that all of my babies are warm and cozy in their beds! It is such a satisfying feeling. They all looked so cute I had to take pictures! Sorry about the visible blanket tag, Suzanne. And you will notice from the first picture, my nice touch up job on the walls in our bedroom. (Lily and Tucker's beds are right beside our bed.) Now you see why I need a painter!

I looked in my rearview mirror on the way home the other day and this is what I saw. She hardly ever sleeps on the way home from school but she had taken a very short nap this day. This is one of her favorite books. It is called My Pajama Bible but she calls it her Jesus book. It has lots of pictures of Jesus and she turns the pages and points to Jesus and says his name! It is the cutest thing!
This is Miss Sassypants in her new boots! We were getting ready to go tailgate and I just had to take a picture! Unfortunately I failed to take even one picture AT the tailgate but we had a great time!

I Love Fall!

GG had the terrific idea to visit the pumpkin patch down the street from our house, it was so fun! Abigayle LOVES her wagon and they had like 30 wagons there, so she was in heaven! She enjoyed riding inside until she got covered by the pumpkins so she decided to get out and push! I haven't really decorated for the fall in the past but they had so many cool pumpkins, I couldn't resist!

Abigayle and I went to Woodward last weekend because Dustin was out of town and Abigayle got to see the pony that GG and Pops got for the grandkids. They didn't know when they got the pony that it was pregnant so now they have two ponies!! Yea!! The buckskin is the baby and the black horse is the momma.

While I was in Woodward I made these apple turnovers using Ina Garten's recipe from FoodNetwork.com. They were so easy because you use store bought puff pastry. They were DELICIOUS if I do say so myself and they looked so pretty! (Suzanne I am trying to get better about taking pictures of my food!) The recipe called for orange juice and orange zest but I substituted lemon juice and lemon zest so they were a little tart but still very good. Although I think you could wrap about anything in puff pastry and it would be good!

Auntie Suzanne came to visit recently and as you can see below she loves to play dress up with Abigayle!  Suzanne also let Abigayle "drive" her car (don't worry it was not running!).  Abigayle DID NOT want to get out of the car, she was having so much fun!

I have recently started taking Lily and Tucker to the groomer every six weeks or so.  It is so nice to let someone else do the grooming every once in a while!  They always get a bandana before they leave...don't they looked so thrilled about the bandanas!  So, I know it is a little cheesy but they look so cute!  And don't worry, I promptly removed the bandanas after I took these pictures!

Football season is here!  We have been waiting forever it seems.  Abigayle went to the first game with us and was quite a handful, but we had fun!  She loved tailgating with Trey and his family!

This is my last post as a free woman!  I go back to work tomorrow...can't believe summer is already over!  It will be nice to get back to teaching and I am sure Abigayle will LOVE being around the other kids at daycare...but I will miss her like crazy!  We have had so much fun together this summer...she is such a happy, loving child!  Here are a few pics since my last post.  She is still getting in drawers every chance she gets, I might have to stop this before she gets bigger or she might break the drawer!
Our first attempt at a ponytail!  It looked so cute but didn't stay in very long!
Dustin and I took a short weekend trip to Dallas and brought Abigayle a cowboy hat and a pink and white pony!  Doesn't she look so cute!  (I am probably not supposed to say that about my own baby but I can't help it!)  She actually seemed to like wearing the hat around!
She got her swimsuit out of the dirty clothes and wouldn't put it down so it had to be in the picture too!  Don't know why she loves getting her dirty clothes out so much!
Hope you all had a great summer too!  I will try to keep blogging even though I am going back to work!  I am going to be swamped this semester, got a lot going on at work...but I will try!

Abigayle and I have a dessert recommendation...Olive Garden has a dessert called zeppoli...they are sort of like sopapillas but so much better in my opinion and they serve them with chocolate sauce...they are sooo good!  Abigayle especially liked the chocolate sauce as you can see!
